Chers consoeurs et confrères,
We are pleased to announce that Robert (Bob) Feinn has been appointed Commandeur Honoraire effective immediately. Previously, he held the rank of Commandeur along with the title of Cellérier Émérite to recognize his prior contributions. Due to the challenges of attending our dinners from his home in Hamden he regrettably resigned earlier this year. Bob’s contributions have been numerous. He was instrumental in introducing Clive Coates to our Sous Commanderie. Subsequently Clive attended and spoke at many of our dinners. Bob has an encyclopedic knowledge of Burgundy and its wines, and delighted in sharing this knowledge with us all at many events. We will celebrate with him in person at a future event. On a programming note, we will not have a dinner on June 8th as originally planned. We have not had many dinners on this date in the past and most recently it was used to replace cancelled dinners due to Covid concerns. We struggled to find a venue and we are concerned that members may have conflicts with other events at this time of the year.
I hope to see all of you at our next event on April 20th in New York and then at our Bastille Day celebration on July 16th.
