Chers Consoeurs et Confrères,
You are cordially invited to our annual Paulée de Meursault being held again this year at the historic Union League Café in New Haven. The Union League is considered to be one of Connecticut’s finest restaurants and consistently receives rave reviews for its French cuisine. It is located on the homestead site of New Haven’s first mayor, Roger Sherman, in a townhouse dating back to the late 19th Century. Jean-Pierre Vuillermet, a Maître Cuisiner de France and a third-generation chef from Aix les Bains, opened the restaurant in 1993.
The Paulée is an event where the Confrérie only provides reception wines. Each member and guest are encouraged to bring their own bottle of Meursault and a red Burgundy of their choice. This day is one where we have fun sharing our wines with others-in the same Burgundian tradition where vignerons and guests mingle while sharing their wines.
There will be transportation available from Greenwich and possibly New Canaan and Westport, depending on demand. I strongly advise that you sign up for transportation on our website. Vans will leave from Greenwich at 11:30 for the Paulée and the cost will be separate and additional to the event charge.
